Refuting the imaginary punishment for ‘Blasphemy’ and Ibn Taymiyyah

A section of the Bangladeshi clergy is currently demanding laws ensuring capital punishment for those who ‘defile’ or ‘abuse’ the Holy Prophet (sa). A ‘group’ of writers/bloggers has been deployed to back their demands through ‘imaginary’ logics. One of their key arguments is the incident of serving Ka’b b. Ashraf with capital punishment by the Holy Prophet (sa) himself. But the Holy Quran, the Sunnah and the recorded facts categorically reject their plea. Here is a reply to their stance. Hafez Ibn Taymiyyah (1263-1328) has been briefly evaluated in the process.
