WHY WE ENGINEERS SO RELUCTANT TO USE ICT??!!!:::::::IEB and peoples related to it deserves better online space , meaningful Website ; where all facilities can be embraced which can save every engineers cost and time with Online payments and registrations, online reading of “Engineering News”( and stop printing it fully to save cost) . For every seminar , we should able to upload the video through YouTube channel or through regular video streaming. If we actually think ourselves as the leader and we need to lead the way with better ICT and IT infrastructure. We should have big ONLINE LIBRARY which we IEB members can access from anywhere ; a website which is standard with any top institution in the world and where we can ensure our IEB related payments which can ensure clarity also. It should already be there before time when we are writing it here in the eve of Engineers Day , 5 , May, 2015 for the new initiative a Magazine for engineers in Bangladesh “The ENGINEERS”.
IEB-Television or RADIO IEB. IT IS POSSIBLE:::::WE engineers in Bangladesh are good revenue generator and tax payers for Bangladesh govt. We can have our own TV channel and Radio where we will promote and share our ideas and our thoughts of Engineer leaders to the world and to connect our Bangladesh related Engineers all over the world. The Channel name can be “IEB-TV” or “Radio IEB”. It is possible . And it also can generate income for IEB. I believe it is a good investment for us.
IEB as Central Recruiter for Accountability:: PWD , PDB , all related BCS Engineering related cadres must need to have IEB Membership or Associate Membership before applying or before sitting with BCS Preliminary Tests . WE have huge number of Engineers in those govt. sectors and IEB must need to ensure that without registration and authentication from IEB, no engineers should enter these sensitive and crucial sector of govt. It will make them more accountable and IEB can play a bigger role to ensure safety and accountability and grow the feeling of liability to our RESPECTED ENGINEERS and related Engineering bodies everywhere. It will strengthen IEB also.
IEB can have a common selection body , who will do the recruitment part centrally for the engineering sectors ( public) and for those private firms who want to recruit through IEB , it will actually make IEB a centre of regular recruitment process and grow a team of experts who can ensure better resource for better companies.
ONLINE COMPLAINTS?? BETTER CENTRAL SUGGESTION/COMPLAIN Departmetn at IEB::::So what Engineers will get from IEB? There should be a complain section where JOB , Salary disputes, leave issues, scholarship facilities , better insurance policies can be ensured to Engineers and their families through IEB. IEB can be a strong partner for Manpower Ministry for ensuring quality works and thus govt. can avoid unnecessary agitation in initial phase.
ACCOMODATION for FRESH ENGINEERS in MAIN CITIES: Accommodation for new Engineer who just came to the centre cities like Dhaka , Chittagong etc. is hard to provide . So for these new Engineers , IEB can provide accommodation for short period and can rent them those with the scope of paying it later with recommendation of another IEB member who actually in profession. The New Engineer will later pay the rent when he or she have the JOB. To avoid any abuse of this facility strong IEB member recommendation is suggested.
7. RESEARCH CENTRE or SCHOLARSHIP::IEB Should have a central research centre on various topics like Earthquake , ICT, Robotics etc. where all the researchers can meet and jointly can make bigger projects and so that investors also can get a single point of contact to implement new initiatives.
UNIVERSITY MONITORING and RANKING , specially the Private one and IEB should prepare its own RANKING Criteria to inspire universities for excellence amonth the universities which have Engineering related departments. We should not STOP after providing IEB Affiliation but more important to monitor the progress regularly at least once in a year and it urgent in need basis if any situation regarding ownership or other incident may happen that can be destroying for those specific students and miserable experience for those parents. IEB cannot deny their responsibility or their commitment to the country and its engineering education sector.
Professional and Academic JOINT PROGRAMS::::Regular Workshop for Teachers of Engineering Universities and Top Professionals together needed to be arranged . So that all remain focused on the future technology and present trend fully.
TRAINING for EVERYONE::::Training and Industry visits can be arranged by IEB centrally . It is a big part that can enhance the capability of our engineers. IEB can invest on publishing books more and more in Bengali related to Engineering with joint venture with Bangla Academy to make Engineering and Technology popular to peoples who are interested.
FEMALE COMMON ROOM at IEB for our ENGINEER FRIENDS & COLLEAGES ; so that they can have a common place to share their idea, issues and can move together and can meet themselves regularly. We have huge number of Female Engineers but IEB continuously not able to address them and failed to give them proper opportunity to lead, to retain position and room to grow . More and more female students are eagerly coming to study engineering and keeping this thing into consideration, IEB should make IEB Campus more friendly. Being one of the top most professional bodies it is our obligation to provide good , humble , decent environment for our all IEB member irrespective of gender .
