The EID FESTIVAL- that Allah did not mentioned

১৭ ই জুলাই, ২০১৫ সন্ধ্যা ৭:৪৫

We have long last belief from the tradition that the Muslim have two EID festival. One is EID UL FITR and another is EID UL Azha. We have been celebrating these two festival for long, from the childhood till day. I heard myself lots of saying regarding the importance of EID from religious perspective. However, after reading Quran, I have found that the EID- that we celebrate is nowhere mention in Quran.

However before going in to details, let me clarify the following important things.

1. There is absolutely nothing wrong with coming together, participating in wholesome festivities within social groups and upholding traditions which don't impinge on Islamic values. EID is no different.

2. However, to understand these festivities such as 'EID' as being part of 'ordained' religion/Deen instituted by Allah, when there is absolutely no support for this in the Quran, is quite a different matter.

3. Therefore, my intention is to find out whether the EID-which we celebrate has any significance in our religion/Deen from Quranic perspective.

Since the Quran is the complete code of life, what Allah does not mentioned in Quran is not part of our religious faith (Deen- is actual term). And as per the concern of hadith literature, we learned from Quran where Allah testify the following things about the final prophet:

1.The only revelation came down to the prophet is Quran.
2.The prophet followed only Quran
3.The Prophet taught only Quran
4.The Prophet Judge people through only Quran
5.The Prophet did not look for any ruler beside Allah
(Please see the link to support the above arguments from Quran: Click This Link

Therefore, if anything is not mentioned in Quran, the prophet could never utter such thing as a part of religion/Deen. The final and sever warning that Allah gave to the prophet regarding to follow the Quran strictly is mentioned in 69:43-47

(This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds. And if the apostle were to invent any sayings in Our name, We should certainly seize him by his right hand, And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart: Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath). (69:43-47)

The word EID- mentioned only in once in Quran:
According to the Quran, Prophet Isa, in response to an initial request made by his companions (5:112), prayed to Allah to send from heaven a table spread (with food) as a festival (Eid).

Said Jesus, the son of Mary, "O Allah , our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers." (5:114)

So, we can say that anyone can celebrate this festival and there is nothing wrong doing it as long as it does not transgress any limit set by Allah. The only thing is that it is not from Allah as a matter of religion/Deen, therefore, it has no significance from religious perspective

EID MUBARAK TO ALL.
