আফ্রিকা মহাদেশের সবচাইতে বেশী তেল ও গ্যাসের মজুদ নাইজেরিয়াতে। এলএনজি গ্যাস রপ্তানীতে দেশটির বিশ্বে অবস্থান চতুর্থ। আন্তর্জাতিক মুদ্রা তহবিলের হিসেব অনুযায়ী দেশটির রপ্তানী আয়ের ৯৬% আসে গ্যাস-তেল খাত থেকে। গত এক দশকে অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধির গড় ৭.৪%। অথচ নাইজেরিয়ায় এখনো দারিদ্র সীমার নীচে বাস করে মোট জনসংখ্যার প্রায় ৬৮%। তারা দৈনিক মাত্র ১.২৫ ডলারে জীবন নির্বাহ করে। আয়গত অসমতাও বেড়েই চলেছে সেখানে।জিনি সূচক (Gini Index) .৩৮ থেকে পৌছেছে .৪৮ এ। গড় আয়ু মাত্র ৫২ বছর।আর মোট জনসংখ্যার অর্ধেকের বেশী লোক বিদ্যুতের ব্যবহার থেকে বঞ্চিত। সামগ্রিক মানব উন্নয়ন সূচকে ২০১৩ সালে দেশটির অবস্থান ছিলো ১৫৩, ১৮৬টি দেশের মধ্যে।



তবে মজার ব্যাপার হলো, বহুজাতিক কোম্পানী শেলের নাইজেরিয়াতে গড় আয় বছরে ৯.২ বিলিয়ন ডলার। এই আয় নাইজেরিয়ার জাতীয় বাজেটের এক তৃতীয়াংশের মত। ২০১৪ সালে নাইজেরিয়া ২৯ বিলিয়ন ডলারের বাজেট ঘোষনা করেছে। শেল, এক্সন মবিল, শেভরনসহ মোট ১৮ টি বিদেশি কোম্পানী নাইজেরিয়ার ৯৯% তেল-গ্যাস উত্তোলনের দায়িত্বে নিযুক্ত। এই খাত থেকে তাদের সামগ্রিক আয় বিবেচনায় নিলে বুঝতে কষ্ট হবেনা নাইজেরিয়ার তেল-গ্যাস খাতের লাভের গুড় কারা খায়?



এখন প্রশ্ন হচ্ছে আমাদের দেশের স্থলভাগ এবং সমুদ্র অঞ্চলের গ্যাস খাতের লাভের গুড়ও ঐ সব বিদেশি কোম্পানীগুলোকে খাওয়ানোর ব্যবস্থা কেনো হচ্ছে, কার স্বার্থে হচ্ছে? তিন দিকে ভারত দ্বারা পরিবেষ্টিত বাংলাদেশ যে আগামি ২০-২৫ বছর পর গাজার মতো অবরুদ্ধ হবে না, তার তো কোনও কাড়ন দেখছি না! এখনই তো অনেক আলামত দেখতে চাইলেই দেখা যায়!



এই ব্যাপক লুটপাট গুলো নিরবচ্ছিন্ন ভাবে চালিয়ে যাবার জন্যই মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের অশান্তি,আল কায়দা থেকে বকো হারাম ইরানের পরমাণু চকলেট ও আই.এস.আই.এস!ভাগীদার চলে আসাতে ইস্ট ইউরোপে অশান্তি!ব্রিকস এর উত্থান......... সবই ঐ একটা রশুনের আলাদা আলাদা গুয়া!
