So, it was a routine OT day.. We had been roaming around here & there..suddenly our eyes got stucked on a patient lying on the stretcher (A familiar face I'd better say). we couldn't resist to have a chitchat as he seemed pretty interesting from the appearance. Well u don't get to see a person who looks like Kahl Drogo(Jason Momoa) everyday. A tall (must be 6 feet 2+),muscular guy with niptied hair, beard,pierced ears,punched eyebrows, greenish eyes!
we hesitated a bit to start a random conversation with a pre operative patient. After taking a short history about his health condition, he was asked about "Game of Thrones." He smiled & replied, "Kahl Drogo, right? I didn't copy him.. let's say we have similar kind of styling sense!" After the icebreaking we had a great conversation..he even posed for the selfie asking "Do I look wild enough in the selfie?like Jason momoa?Haha..." Later on we had a chat about Aquaman casting, DC comic, khalisee & much more!
Well, behind all these fun facts, this young man has an onerous unfortunate story to tell.. He is a graduate In English from some renowned versity..A few months ago he was returning to dhaka from Chuadanga by train..Usually A train doesn't start to move very fast in the station.. He was about to get down from the slowly moving train while Someone came running (Let's call him Mr. B) & didn't notice this tall guy at the door. Mr. B was in such a hurry that he didn't even realize that the train has started moving fast. he was about to get slipped under the train. That's When our Kahl drogo guy pushed him hard to save his life..well,a life was saved in return of a great sacrifice. In the effort to push Mr. B down, he lost his body balance .. Before even realizing properly, our patient found that he has fallen down & the train along with 4/5 compartments ran over his right leg. It got amputated below the ankle joint. He didn't panic, rather he managed to put pressure bandage over the wound in order to stop the bleeding immediately. He was strong enough to reach hospital on his own!
Now he comes to our hospital on a regular basis for dressing. Even in the OT he seems tough enough!
He lost his leg but didn't lose inner strength, hopes or dignity.
