EBL awarded as Best BD Retail Bank

Bank Eastern Bank Limited, one of the private commercial banks of the country, has been adjudged as the Best Retail Bank in Bangladesh-2013 at the Asian Banker’s International Excellence in Retail Financial Services-2013 Awards.



The award giving ceremony was held in Seoul, South Korea on recently.



The event was held in conjunction with the region’s most prestigious retail banking event, the Excellence in Retail Financial Services Convention.



Deputy Managing Director and head of retail banking of EBL Moklesur Rahman received the award from Managing Editor of The Asian Banker Foo Boon Ping.



The awards programme, administered by The Asian Banker and refereed by prominent global bankers, consultants and academics, is the most prestigious of its kind.



About 150 senior bankers from award-winning banks in 29 countries across the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa attended the glittering event that recognizes their efforts in bringing superior products and services to their customers.



The other winning banks in the Asia Pacific region are HDFC (India), Habib Bank (Pakistan), Hatton National Bank (Sri Lanka), ICBC (China), Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Australia).



Since its inception in 1992, Eastern bank continues to establish itself as a leading private commercial bank in Bangladesh.



In the year under review, Eastern Bank excelled significantly in its innovations. Mobile Wallet, Student Banking and Payroll Banking are the innovative Retail Banking Services provided by the bank.
