Pushing in Radicalism

০৭ ই সেপ্টেম্বর, ২০১৬ সকাল ৮:০২

Lately I had a conversation with an internet friend who lives in Bangladesh. He is a smart kid studing in a reputed college of Dhaka, damn ambitious and aims for a bright future ahead. We talked over Risha, the very unfortunate girl who was brutally murdered in open daylight by her stalker. The point what he was kept on saying that it was Risha's fault to lose her at the very first place. Then the rest part of the blame goes to her killer Obaid. I was left speechless. He hold his ground strong for his point. He was not at all in mood to agree.
This very thing means that Bangladesh is turning into an extremist islamic nation. When a very learned friend of mine says that the victim was at fault for not wearing proper attire, then it seriously shows the red flag. He gave all the islamic reasoning in favor of it. Now I want to throw a question, was the girl really at fault for not wearing islamic attire? Can this be an excuse to kill someone?
A difinite NO.
I don't want to accuse or blame my friend for having such mentality. In actuality the whole of Bangladesh is having the exact same type of thought process due to its fast moving forward into islamic radicalism at an alarming rate which is a very very bad news for everyone, both inside and out.
The latest Gulshan Attack case is not something very unfamiliar here. The attack conducted by a bunch of youths, all studing in way too reputed institutions both in Bangladesh and abroad. They didn't had beards as a jihadist usually has. Evidences from their previous life showed they were average folks dancing to the top hits, cracking jokes, trolling their friends. They were no different from us. They are were not madrasa going folks wearing long jubbas. But they showed up in the most decieving manner and stunned the whole world.
Extremism is now slow poisoning my whole nation. You can't believe anyone now. Anyone in Bangladesh could be a jihadist behind that lovely smile.
I shouldn't be saying this but I won't get surprise if I see my friend becoming like one of them. I won't get surprise if the whole Bangladesh turns out to be like that.

ইফতি সৌরভ বলেছেন: They are were not madrasa going folks wearing long jubbad - after that also they are becoming assets for the "suicide squad". Why this is happening? If we not able to find out it within short time (though already it's late), this country ll suffer for long.

Thank you "বাসারাট" for her article but still no idea how to stop such "extremist".

" its fast moving forward into islamic radicalism at an alarming rate" - this could not be the main problem. We have to find out why it's moving so fast among the modern youths where everyone is well educated and they are having lot of opportunities to make fun?

Why are youths sacrificing their valuable lives? why are those abandoning their gorgeous life styles & leading their lives at poor hostels / inns? is It only for the "Heaven"? Or for nothing?

বাসারাট বলেছেন: The thing that astonish me the most is that people have become so blind that they don't mind taking someone else's life to unlock Heaven. What happened to this wonderful religion of peace.....

ইফতি সৌরভ বলেছেন: They aren't religious, they are "psycho". I never thought Bangladesh would suffer from such extremism but this is happening.

ফোরহাড হামেড বলেছেন: It is always good to be in safe side. Look think in this way. If she dressed as per islamic dress code then chances are that she wouldn't had to meet with such brutality. You can always blame the males but just think in this point of view. A simple islamic dress would have made the difference.
