BNP DEMANDS FOR INVESTIGATION UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE UN TO IDENTIFY ARSONISTS

BNP demanded an investigation under the United Nations supervision to identify persons responsible for subversive activities, including arson. The party raised the demand at a press briefing at the BNP's central office. BNP reiterated demand after the prime minister told parliament that a special tribunal would be constituted to try BNP chief Khaleda Zia as the 'mastermind' of the arson attacks. The Party told that the BNP was responsible for fire bombings made by government people were not involved with arson attacks. They claimed that the real culprits should be identified by an international probe committee under the UN supervision. BNP further said that they were never involved in any act of sabotage. But the government is trying to eliminate the BNP leadership implicating its leaders and workers in cases relating to sabotage. The government is closely monitoring whether the instructions are being carried out properly.Govt. showed several pictures as proof of BNP-Jamaat men's involvement in subversive activities during the agitation. Khaleda told police hurled the firebombs during the agitation but it is now clear to people that arson attacks carried out by BNP-Jamaat activists. So, investigational demands created by BNP will be failed as they are directly involve such incidents.
