TO PREVENT CRIMES GOVT INSTALLED CCTV CAMERAS

The government has decided to install high resolution CCTV cameras in the capital to prevent crimes and bring the people under a 24-hour surveillance for their safety and security. Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras would be installed at the entrances, exit points, Inter-sections and all important places in the capital city with the targeted goal of reducing crime to ensure public safety. Government would introduce the CCTV camera systems at all entrance and exist points of Dhaka city as part of the intense security measures. The estimated cost for installment of the cameras would be around Taka 700-800 crore. They discussed installment of the CCTV cameras and decided to appoint a consultant for the project. The consultant would submit his report with recommending procurement of the cameras. The CCTV cameras would be able to identify the people's movement from its positions, which would quickly help the law enforcers to identify the criminals. The Law enforcers have been asked to strengthen their patrol as well as surveillance in the city including the diplomatic zone to keep crimes under control. Security check posts had also been set up at various points so that Dhaka city would be a monitored city after installment of the CCTV cameras.
