Philips Lighting plans to expand its LED lighting factory

“Washington Times” reported on the 7th August 2014 that Philips Lighting of North America branch plans to expand its lighting factory located in Tupelo, Mississippi City, and increase 50 posts. The company announced that it will invest $ 2 million to expand its LED lamps plant specializing in household LED lamps including household LED downlight in Tupelo. After completion of the expansion，the plant will adopt the LED technology Philips developed and used in San Jose, California, for the production.



Lain Logan, in charge of Philips Lighting Americas said the household LED downlight and other household and commercial lamps the plant produced can react automatically according to the surrounding environment. Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) provided the renovation project for the plant with federal community development grants $ 1 million. MDA spokesman Tammy Craft said the local government had not provide funding encouraging policies for the expansion of household LED downlight and other household and commercial LED lamps.
