Abbreviation হচ্ছে কোন বাক্য কিংবা বড় কোন শব্দের সংক্ষিপ্ত রুপ।Acronyms আর Abbreviation একই কথা।
তবে এদের মধ্যে ছোট খাটো একটা পার্থক্য আছে।
Abbreviation এ প্রতিটি অক্ষরকে আলাদাভাবে উচ্চারণ করা হয় এবং এটাকে শব্দ হিসেবে পড়া হয়না।
যেমন:ORM(Optical Mark Reader)
কিন্তু Acronyms কে একটি শব্দ হিসেবে উচ্চারণ করা হয়।
যেমন:NATO(North Atlantic Treaty Organization)
