i am still looking at the alexa graphs in front of me. not sure if i believe it or not. alexa, the web information company that compares traffic on website, tries to tell me a very very interesting story after i have put in the urls to compare:
"the bangla bloggers of somewhere in... blog are nowadays creating content and activities that generates more readership than the online versions of india today, the economist and newsweek!"
this was at least my interpretation. but just look at the graph, the page views of somewhere in... blog has actually bypassed the pageviews of newsweek.com the last few days. these international giant magazines do reach more people than we do, they rank higher on the statistics, but in terms of attractive and interesting contents, it seems true that our bangla blogging community beats them all. who could ever believe that?
and there is more, if you compare with other blog communities:
ok, lets not be foolish and compare with blogger and wordpress, yet, but if you have heard about vox, perhaps you also feel good knowing that our bangla blogs are read more than vox blogs?
and finally, aren´t we now the most viewed local website, at least in these days?
yes, prothom alo, bdjobs ++ reach more people. however, the excitement i feel and hope you share with me is that you guys are the creators of content so popular and appreciated that it can be clocked in a few pages views ahead of newsweek. is somewhere in... blog the upcoming michael phelps of cyberspace?

আরিল বলেছেন: প্রথম আল পেজ ভিউ আবার ভারবে। alexa never shows very stable graphs. the graph for prothom alo will increase again any time, the graph for somewhere in... blog will decrease again any time. however, the interesting thing is that the trends are upwards, week by week, month by month.

we may not conclude like above based on alexa.com statistics. Coz alexa.com only take visitor information those have used alexa toolbar with their browser. I dont believe those number of visitor are huge in %.

But as per alexa.com page views per unique visitor of somewhereinblog.net (33) is much greater than prothom-alo.com (1.5). Somewhere blogger visited many pages to read + post blogs. one single blogger visited many blogs. where as many visitor for newspaper just simply read headlines of front pages. so per unique visitor page view should be greater for somewhereinblog.net. This is nothing extra-ordinary.
However Somewhereinblog.net has achived a great position in the history of bangla blogging. Live long with prosper SW......
