GOVT HAS LAUNCHED TO IMPROVE SEWERAGE FACILITIES FOR THE DWELLERS IN THE CAPITAL

The government has launched a development project to improve sewerage facilities for the growing number of dwellers living in the capital. It will take Taka 3,317 crore for implement the project. The name of the treatment plant will be "Dasherkandi Sewerage Treatment Plant". This plans treat the sewerage using modern method alongside protecting the environment of the area and Hatirjheel project area.The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the project in the current fiscal. The sewerage treatment plant would be set up at Khilgaon in the city with the capacity of treating 500 million liters sewerage per day alongside construction of one sewage lifting station. Dhaka WASA is entrusted to implement the project by December 2019. Considering the growing demand, Dhaka WASA has recently framed a master plan under which it aims to set up 11 sewerage treatment plants in the city.
