India-Bangladesh Joint Venture Investment

Indian businesses are preferring joint-venture investment to trade in Bangladesh to tap the duty-free market access facility for Bangladeshi products in 40 countries as well as to reduce the trade gap between the two neighbouring countries. Indian Export Organisations have already received two proposals for joint venture to create a win-win situation for both countries as joint venture would be helpful in reducing the existing trade gaps between Bangladesh and India at the business exhibition of India. 56 companies from all over India take part in the exhibition and they receive response beyond their expectation. The Indian businesses negotiate for two more joint ventures — one for kitchen appliances industry and another for spice processing industry in Bangladesh. The aim of the expo is not only to sell products but also to attract joint venture targeting the supply to the northeast provinces of India, which would increase the exports of Bangladesh to India. The joint venture also creates job opportunity and strengthen the economy of Bangladesh. The production will become cheaper and convenient through trans-border trade activities. The businesses of India also are thinking how to increase business, trade and relationship between Bangladesh and India. India expected that the intent of the trade show was unlocking the immense potential of two countries in the field of trade and investment
