Bangladesh is the ‘focus’ country in the trade fair- Pranab Mukherjee

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee highly appreciated the economic growth of Bangladesh terming the ‘best in South Asia’. He expressed this while inaugurating the 35th India International Trade Fair 2015 in New Delhi. Bangladesh is the ‘focus’ country in the trade fair, in which 7,000 firms from India and abroad, including Bangladesh, are participating. The Indian President said he was particularly glad to find considerable participation of companies from the Saarc region. “Our South Asian neighbours are our highest priority in keeping with our ‘neighbourhood first’ policy. It’s good to see Afghanistan as the ‘Partner Country’ and Bangladesh as the ‘Focus Country’ in IITF 2015.” The Indian President said IITF 2015 presents an ideal platform for the global fraternity which has a shared interest in trade relations to enhance peace and prosperity. India’s efforts for inclusive economic growth and social advancement have shown the way forward to many developing countries. Speaking on the occasion, the Bangladesh High Commissioner said Bangladesh and India are tied by close bonds of friendship and cooperation, based on shared geography and history. The emotional bond of 1971, stemming from the steadfast support and invaluable contribution of the government and the people of India, remains the guiding force as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government continue to make every effort to foster closer bilateral cooperation between our two countries.
