একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারী, তুমি আমার অহংকার

বুকের তাজারক্তে পেলাম মায়ের ভাষার অধিকার

তুমি আমার পথচলার,তুমি আমার কথাবলার।।



একুশ -তুমি আমার প্রাণের সকল ভালবাসায়

একুশ -তুমি রাজপথে রাঙা ঐবিপ্লবী চেতনায়

একুশ -তুমি মায়ের প্রাণের ভাষার অলংকার

তুমি আমার পথচলার,তুমি আমার কথাবলার।।



একুশ -তুমি গর্জে ওঠা মুক্তিযোদ্ধার হাত

একুশ -তুমি স্বাধীনতার নতুন রাঙাপ্রভাত

একুশ -তুমি জীবনে মরনে সুখের সম্ভার

তুমি আমার পথচলার,তুমি আমার কথাবলার।।



একুশ -তুমি মায়ের মুখের গল্প বলা সুমধুর

একুশ –তুমি মেঠোরাখালী প্রাণেরবাঁশির সুর

একুশ -তুমি সারা বিশ্বের জাগ্রত জনতার

তুমি আমার পথচলার,তুমি আমার কথাবলার।।

প্রেক্ষাপট: ১৯৫২ সালের ২১শে ফেব্রুয়ারী মায়ের ভাষার জন্য প্রান দিয়েছিল বাংলার মানুষ. আজ বিশ্বের দরবারে বাংলাভাষা প্রতিষ্ঠিত । গর্ব করে স্বরণ করছি মহান ২১।

The Bengali Language Movement, also known as the Language Movement (Bengali: ভাষা আন্দোলন.In 1948, the Government of the Dominion of Pakistan ordained Urdu as the sole national language, sparking extensive protests among the Bengali-speaking majority of East Bengal. Facing rising sectarian tensions and mass discontent with the new law, the government outlawed public meetings and rallies. The students of the University of Dhaka and other political activists defied the law and organized a protest on 21 February 1952. The movement reached its climax when police killed student demonstrators on that day. In 1999, UNESCO declared 21 February as International Mother Language Day,in tribute to the Language Movement and the ethno-linguistic rights of people around the world.
