BAU INVENTIONS AT A GLANCE

The scientists of BAU have made remarkable strides in developing advanced technologies, high-productive breeds and seeds for different sections of agriculture sector. Some of them are mentioned below in four separate paragraphs.



LIVESTOCK



DNA finger printing of livestock to determine its origin, development of Black Bengal Goat breed, Garole Sheep breed and Asil breed of chicken, Red Chittagong and Pabna varieties of cattle, Soya milk from Soybeans, Artificial Insemination (AI) technology, cryopreservation technology, development of fowl vaccines, balanced rations for livestock and so on.



AGRICULTURE



BAU-kul, aerobic crop cultivation system, germ plasm of indigenous and foreign crop and fruit varieties, soil testing system, seed quality testing system, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) technology, plant diseases diagnosis system, development of high-yielding varieties of crops and vegetables and development of drought resistance crop varieties.



AGRI-ENGINEERING



Diagnosis of plant diseases using computer, seed spreader, solar drier, chopping machine, energy-saving cooking oven, crop harvesting machine, crop thrasher (manual and automated), processing and preservation technique of various juices.



FISHERIES



Periphyton-based fish production system, Ice-box technology to ease transportation and preservation of fishes, AI technology for Magur and Shing fish, fish production system in floating box, integrated fish-production system, balanced rations for fishes, preservation technique of Ilsha fish and development of high-yielding fish varieties.
