পাহাড়-চুড়ায় দাঁড়িয়ে মনে হয়েছিল, আমি এই পৃথিবীকে পদতলে রেখেছি, এই আক্ষরিক সত্যের কছে যুক্তি মূর্ছা যায়।
The land owners are likely to get profits from the Dighipara coalmine as the government is working on a plan to share profits with the landowners of the coalfield area to avoid conflicts with regards to land acquisition and operations of the coalmine. The government is expected to commission the coalfield by July 2023. The government is planning to take the land from the private landowners on lease for 50 years to 99 years to develop the coalfield with a coal reserve of 865 million tones lied in three coal seams with 61 metres of thickness. Barapukuria Coal Field Development Company Ltd (BCMCL) will implement the project which aims to feed the coal-fired power projects. The government would require 7 million tones coal a year to generate 20,000MW of electricity by 2030. Domestic coal production is currently only 1 million tone from the country’s lone functional coal mine in Barapukuria. After developing the Digipara coalfield, BCMCL is expected to increase coal production to 20,000 tonnes a day from existing 2,000 tonnes from Barapukuria coalmine. It would require six to seven years to develop the Digipara coalfield if the physical work starts next year. As per the proposal, the company plans to complete the land acquisition process from March 2016 to March 2017. To Protect Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources, Power and Port, said they won’t oppose the project if it is implemented through a transparent process and dully meeting all environmental compliances.
