Gender Diversity, Paradoxes and Bangladesh

I didn't realize there was more genders than just males and females until I was like 12-13 years old. When I first learnt about "Hijras" in other word Transexuals, a couple of questioned bombarded in my mind. And like a curious little kid, I asked my closed people. How should I address them ? He or She? Where do they pee ? Men's Toilet or Women's Toilet ? and much more Most of those answers were "Stop asking such stupid questions.

Growing up, talking about sex with friends and eventually getting the power of Internet" I learned Gender is not binary. It's like a spectrum. We have biological diversity to have different physical structure and sexual orientation.

Male, Female, Transex, Intersex.
Asexual, Heterosexual, Homosexuals and Bisexuals.



Like the majority of us, I am lucky enough to have physical and genetic features that fit into society's "regular". But there are a lot of people in our community who have to suffer from social ostracism, denial of civil rights, even the ability to do basic natural needs in public places.

That is why, organized trans-community like Hijra, have become a major shield of crime, smuggling, prostitution, that even police and other law enforcers have failed to stop.

Nature may form diversity, but we human are good at splitting each others with our narrow mindset
